purchase shredder software to permanently erase the data on the hard drive if you intend to donate your old computer or laptop to school, or want to sell it.

If u intend to dispose ur old computer 

step 1: dismantle the computer/laptop

step 2 : take out the hard disc

step 3 : physically destroy the hard drive
